How to Lose Weight and Other Musings

By Coach Roger

Like some of you, I’ve had challenges with my weight. Thing is, I’m not fat but yet I love food. I’ll be 50 years old this year – OMG – but I’ve been told enough times I look at least 10 years younger or close to that which is always nice to hear.

It also helps when you have a beautiful wife who, through regular exercise and being a mom, has maintained a great figure her whole life. Adding two young daughters to the mix totally assist in me feeling and looking younger, so ya, I have an incentive in keeping fit. BUT, it doesn’t mean life  is perfect, in fact I binge eat from time to time, usually late at night too, the worst time to do it just before you go to bed. It sucks when I do that. If this is also you, why do we do it and what the hell does this have to do with marketing or growing your business?

A lot actually.

Being Smart with Your Marketing Dollars

By Coach Roger

If you’re ready to launch your new business or you’ve been in one for some time, you know how important it is to have a marketing budget, or at least you should. This is something many new online entrepreneurs don’t anticipate, that spending money on marketing – and other items – on a regular basis is a key component in growing your business.

But what if you don’t have monthly funds to put towards your business? Truth is, you don’t need a lot but you should allocate something, whatever you can afford. Continue reading “Being Smart with Your Marketing Dollars”

They Only Pay in Cash, Sorry…

By Coach Roger

As the British would say about that headline, ‘you’re taking the piss’. After all, who doesn’t like to be paid in cash?

When it comes to participating in legitimate online paid surveys, there are a few out there and I noted one of them in a previous post. However, many pay in gift cards, coupons and points but here is one that’s different.

It’s called Paid View Point.com and it’s different because the surveys you take are the quick in-and-out-done-in-a-few-minutes type of surveys. You certainly won’t get rich doing it but if you’re invited to do a survey, you’re guaranteed to get paid in cash, via PayPal. It’s ideal for stay-at-home-moms or retirees or for people who have time to kill and want to make a few bucks online. Check it out here.

Marketing 102: Cutting Through the Clutter

By Coach Roger

Business legend and New York Times best selling author of the Ultimate Sales Machine, the late Chet Holmes, said in 1993 you needed 4 attempts to grab your buyer’s attention. 15 years later it took 8.4 attempts. Today it’s even more.

Advertising costs more than 3X what it did a couple of decades ago and that is only to achieve less than half the results!  So how do you affordably cut through the clutter to get your buyer’s attention today?

Scheduling Your Life Made Easy (and Free)

By Coach Roger

If you’re a sales professional, stay at home or working mom, realtor or anyone who needs to schedule their work day, there’s nothing better than a calendar app that helps you stay on track.

There’s a lot of great software out there too like Time trade, Mixmax or a Gmail scheduler from Google and they’re all good.

The one I like best and use is Calendly. It takes about five minutes to set up and it integrates seamlessly with Google calendar. Did I mention that it was free too? Oh ya, it’s that as well. Check it out here.

9 Ways to Reduce Stress

By Coach Roger

After 14 years in a house we’ve lovingly called home, it’s time to go now.

With moving boxes lined everywhere around the house, it’s pretty hectic, crazy and man, it can be stressful. I’m also meeting with a real estate agent next week to look at purchasing student rentals in a different city; this is also an exciting time.

But whenever you push yourself out of your comfort zone and feel you’ve taken on more than you can handle, the stress levels of uncertainty can pile up pretty quickly. Continue reading “9 Ways to Reduce Stress”

The Power of Following A System

By Coach Roger

It’s been five years now that I’ve been part of a local real estate investment group in the Toronto area.

The guys who head the group of 400+ investors are brilliant marketers, to say the least. Since I joined in 2012, without fail, I’ve received a monthly newsletter in the mail along with a CD of their latest audio interview. You can also access all their audios online along with hundreds of insightful articles. They’re always in your face with their brand but it’s always ok because they consistently deliver value. So what’s the point to all this? Continue reading “The Power of Following A System”
