A 12-Year-Old Phenom

By Coach Roger

In one of my recent posts, I said I wanted to occasionally highlight underrated YouTubers. There are so many out there, it was tough to choose which one to put a spot light on.

Then I found her.

As you may know I’m a proud father to two incredible girls. Since they were old enough to go to school, they have it ingrained in them to ‘be the best that you can be’ as it was something I’ve always instilled in them before they walked out the door. In their own right, they are already successful in their pursuits. And like any parent, we want to inspire our kids to be better, even more successful than ourselves, at least I do. It’s difficult, though, to find young people who inspire fellow young people to another level.

This one young lady, Hanalei Swan, does that and a lot more.

I only recently discovered her and she immediately became must-watch viewing for my girls. Actually, she became must-watch viewing for me too. What an inspiration! It’s tough to complain about our lives; about not being enough, about feeling sorry for ourselves etc. She just flat out goes after it. It doesn’t hurt that she has awesome, entrepreneurial parents who guide her the way they do in business and in life.

Hanalei Swan built a successful fashion business and later turned down a 30 million dollar offer from the ABC-TV show, Shark Tank. You read that right. 30 million dollars. Oh ya, that was when she was 11-years-old!

At such a young age, she’s 12 now, she has so much to say and we have a lot to learn from her. She is my feature today for Underrated YouTuber of the week, maybe the decade. Hanalei was on fellow successful entrepreneur Mike Vestil’s podcast. So if you’ve never heard of Hanlei Swan, you will. Enjoy.

An Online Survey Site that Actually Pays

By Coach Roger

From time to time I get requests about online jobs. Some of my subscribers are single or stay-at-home moms who don’t want to start a blog or Internet marketing biz opp or the next latest and greatest.

They don’t want to invest any money because they either don’t have any or they’ve been scammed before (you’re not alone, btw). Most importantly, they have a little child at home who doesn’t follow a schedule; when babies are hungry they cry, when they’re sleepy they cry, when they cry, well, they cry more. If you’ve ever had a kid, you know what I’m talking about.

So I scoured the Internet to find credible opportunities that offers flexibility and pays you in a timely fashion, because that’s the kind of guy I am. There are some good ones out there but to be clear, you will likely not be able to pay your mortgage with the money you make from them but you certainly can pay for a load of diapers (excuse the pun), be able to put a few bucks aside, pay a few bills or even take the family for a night out.

Instead of listing a hodge podge of opportunities, I’m going to focus on one. The reason being this is the best one I found simply based on the number of positive reviews its received. The site is called Paidviewpoint.com.

If you’ve ever been on survey sites, and I hear this from survey takers all the time, is you get disqualified from a lot of surveys even after spending all that time answering questions. Not this one. You get paid in cash via PayPal for EVERY survey you do. While I’m not a big fan of PayPal, for this purpose you’ll be fine.

Did I mention the reviews? 80% of them were ‘5 Stars’, that’s impressive. You can check the reviews here.

Although I’ve not used this service, it’s clear the majority of members like it so if you join paidviewpoint.com, you’ll be in good company. Hope this helps!

Everyone Needs a Mentor

By Coach Roger

It’s been a real blessing having worked under the tutelage of New York Times best selling author, the late Chet Holmes, who billionaire Charlie Munger – Warren Buffet’s business partner – called ‘America’s Greatest Sales Executive’.

I learned so much from Chet that it’s hard to pick out one gem. His mantra of pig-headed determination always getting you what you want is something I’ll always remember, not to mention the incredible sales skills he taught me.

The three years I was with his and Tony Robbins organization was very successful but unfortunately Chet suddenly became ill and, within a few months, he lost his battle with leukemia. Needless to say, that was a low point not only for everyone who worked for Chet but also for the world, he was a consummate professional and inspiring leader. As sad as that was, I had to move on.

Through a connection with a friend, it wasn’t much later when I met Tony Award nominee Dan Levine who is a creative and marketing genius. I’ve told him that too and spent the next (almost) six years with Dan’s voice over training organization, it was a tremendous experience.

Being mentored by two of the best sales and marketing minds in America will do a lot for one’s skill set and that’s the point of this post – not to brag how great some of my mentors have been – but the fact that YOU, my dear reader, should seek a mentor if you don’t have one. It will be a key to your success, whatever business you’re in.

Cue Dan Lok.

I discovered Dan Lok recently and delved into his YouTube channel. Holy cow, if you are in business, want to start a business or you are in sales or want to get into sales, Dan is the man. He teaches real world concepts and how to tackle specific sales situations. You can check him out here.

The Power of Ringless Voice Mails in 2019

By Coach Roger

Ringless voice mail technology has been around for a few years now but I still get calls from people wondering if it actually works.

The short answer is yes. The longer answer is yesssssss. Ok bad joke.

If you are in any type of business, it can be a powerful tool to get your message across whether that be a call back or for your prospects to visit your website. It’s that simple.

Think about it this way: if you saw there was a voice mail on your smartphone, would you listen to it? Of course you would. We all would.

It’s also unobtrusive. One of the best things I love about this marketing tool – and I’ve been using it for three years – is it allows your prospects to decide when to listen to your voice mail and, make no mistake, they WILL listen to your message. But it does give them control of just when to do that; it’s two-way marketing brilliance!

The million dollar question, however, is, is ringless voice mail technology legal? The short answer is yes. The longer answer is it depends. If you’re using it for calling the consumer market who may or may not have requested being on the Do Not Call list (DNC), you could be in a lot of trouble. The FCC could come after you and levy heavy fines. Be careful!

That said, ringless voice mail in of itself IS FCC compliant. It’s best to use it for the business market; that can include network marketers or people who are business opportunity seekers.

I posted this video last year and it should round out your knowledge on how this amazing system works. I’ll even provide Exclusive Content that gives you the key on how to actually use this software – it’s a separate ‘How To’ video tutorial for anyone who buys the product from me. I hope this helps!

2019: The Year of…YOU

By Coach Roger

One of the best things about starting a new year is being able to look in the rear view mirror and see what goals you hit or missed in 2018 then going for a higher bar or, if necessary, pivoting where applicable.

What if you didn’t quite hit your goals last year? It happens to everyone but what separates successful people from the rest is their relentless push in moving forward, despite hitting obstacles.

I tell my daughters this – I picked this up from Sara Blakely, billionaire creator of Spanx – Sara’s story of her dad ‘high fiving’ her and asking her how many times she failed today. The point being as long as she kept getting up, she was going to win. Obstacles are part of the journey to success, once you get that in your mind you can do anything!

Your Habits Correlate with Your Success

By Coach Roger

Habits.

We all have them but they serve us in both good and evil ways. The good news is you can literally change a habit in an instant, my thing was to wake up two hours earlier than I normally did, it takes discipline but it’s worth it and allows you to create a ‘things to do list’ and then execute. Here’s a tip, only put 6 of the most important tasks you need done, it helps you come out with a victory at the end of each day.

Changing your habits in an instant is a mantra Tony Robbins preached when I was a client services director in his organization many moons ago. He preaches this in his seminars today. It’s not easy but it isn’t hard either, just depends on what your goals are and how motivated you are to achieve them. If you want it you can do it, you just have to decide.

Business Insider magazine published habits of self-made millionaires. There’s a common theme shared by successful people so take note, here they are: Continue reading “Your Habits Correlate with Your Success”

Solving Problems NOT Just Selling Products

By Coach Roger

I’ve recognized in both my successes and failures in the world of online sales and marketing, is the above headline – Solving problems NOT just selling products – is a principle that has always held true. When I don’t apply it, it usually backfires on me.

In my experience, most people who join a direct sales company, start an online business or become an affiliate marketer begin the same way, which is to push the product or service first.

That in of itself is not a crime but there is a balance that one needs to consider. Having a business is about solving problems. First.

How you do that is to add real value first and once you do, everything else will fall into place. You will make more sales if you’re engaged with your prospect by knowing what their needs are and how you can solve their business problems.  Most people will trust and respect you more and ultimately buy from you because you’re sincere about helping them.

That said, I mentioned in a previous post that we all love to save money. If you’re just starting out (and even if you’re not) and you need a voice mail service, here’s one I’ve been using for a couple of different programs – and it’s free!

It’s called Simple Voice Box. You can check it out here.

Google Authenticator and Why You Should Care

By Coach Roger

If you have a smartphone (you likely do), you also have an excellent password that is 100% safe from sabotage (you likely don’t).

You’re also likely seeing more of 2FA – short for two-factor authentication – whenever you shop online or in general, work online. 2FA offers you an extra layer of online security.

I’ve been meaning to write about 2FA but got sidetracked then just the other day I was asked if it’s worth the bother of downloading it so the short answer is, Yes! Here’s how it works: You’ll log into a service with your username and password on your computer, just like you always do. Then, you’ll either receive a notification on your smartphone — sometimes a text message containing a code, sometimes an app asking for verification — or you’ll be prompted to plug in a USB security key.

Once you enter the code, approve the login or plug in the key, you can access your account. Easy peasy for you but virtually impossible for a cyber-criminal to access your phone. You’ll need to do this only once for each account on each device you regularly use.

Here’s the catch so bear this in mind when considering using 2FA: you’ll have to reveal your cell phone number. If you’re comfortable with potentially being spammed in the future with text messages, it’s all good. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that would happen but just be aware that it might, who knows who could have access to your number.

That said, the best and easiest way is to have the 2FA app on your phone. I access my affiliate programs and trade crypto currencies from time to time and always use Google Authenticator which gives me a code whenever I need that extra layer of security, it’s peace of mind and it’s free. If you’re not using 2FA you might want to consider it. If you’re on iOS go to the App store or Google play on Android and you can download it there. Here’s a link to more information.

Hope this helps.
