How to Lose Weight and Other Musings

Like some of you, I’ve had challenges with my weight. Thing is, I’m not fat but yet I love food. I’ll be 50 years old this year – OMG – but I’ve been told enough times I look at least 10 years younger or close to that which is always nice to hear.

It also helps when you have a beautiful wife who, through regular exercise and being a mom, has maintained a great figure her whole life. Adding two young daughters to the mix totally assist in me feeling and looking younger, so ya, I have an incentive in keeping fit. BUT, it doesn’t mean life  is perfect, in fact I binge eat from time to time, usually late at night too, the worst time to do it just before you go to bed. It sucks when I do that. If this is also you, why do we do it and what the hell does this have to do with marketing or growing your business?

My friend Ramit Sethi, author of “I Will Teach You to be Rich” had his team breakdown why we do what we do when it comes to bingeing and how it relates to getting things done in business (and in life).

It all comes down to habits. When we binge eat it’s because we love doing it, right? Although we regret it at the same time which then becomes cyclical and we do it again. It’s a habit most of us want to break but how do you do it? Believe it or not, Ramit Sethi says, it’s not from a lack of will power. The answer stems from a root cause that has NOTHING to do with the actual bingeing.
