After spending 10 glorious days in the beautiful island-country of Cuba, it made me realize just how lucky we are to be living in the western world, warts and all. Admittedly, this happens whenever I go away or see the less fortunate but it’s no less cathartic.
We tend to complain about the silliest things and become outraged for the sake of being outraged. Part of the reason is we’re constantly bombarded with shiny objects that take our focus away from our purpose in life, whatever that may be. When you work from home, it can become that much more difficult.
So when it comes to your business and its marketing, I think about what Marketer and cartoonist – a ‘Marketoonist’ – Tom Fishburne once said: “The best marketing doesn’t feel like marketing”. He’s so right but how do you utilize this concept to attract new clients into your world?
Focus on your marketing strengths.
If you are diversifying your marketing methods, for example, your spend is in Facebook, Craigslist and LinkedIn but your best results come from Facebook, why put your resources elsewhere? Double down on FB. It sounds so simple and it is but many people I talk to complicate things because that makes more sense to them. And it’s true, some people function better with chaos in their lives. Not me.
I prefer talking to pre-qualified people because in the end people buy from people, not websites. That’s my marketing strength but maybe it’s different for you.
